    I have to say I don't follow the Dakar but it would be great to see it televised (maybe it is but I only have freeview), would defiantly watch it. RIP :expressionless:

    It's been on Eurosport for years although I haven't followed it as much this year as I usually do.

    i just looked on the bbc site. There is coverage of bike racing from many different disciplines.

    One of the motorcycle legend of the Dakar passed away last week. Hubert Auriol won 2 times on BMW and had this crash on Cagiva in 1987. He crossed the step line riding with 2 broken ankles.
    He also won with a car later.
    They all know the danger. Pierre Cherpin was on his 4th Dakar. Always sad, but lethal accident on such a crazy race can't be avoided.
