Which is best? I need a stand for home maintenance. Not normally a fan of centre stands but in this instance it seems to be the sensible option. Ease of use for one man operation is my main concern. Any feedback would be appreciated.
Paddock stands are much the cheaper option and easy to use once you've used one a few times and got the knack. A Centre stand is a lot more expensive but obviously always available when you need it and also easy to use. The extra weight it adds is low down and negligible but it can impact the appearance of the bike IMO (debatable). Centre stands used to be standard equipment but now seem to be an expensive option on many models. None of my bikes have one. You decide.
I have here x4 different paddock stands but my 900 sits on it's own centre stand. Easy, so easy, a quick lube of the chain in the Orkneys...... no problem! Messing about at home, not even a thought. It ain't a sports bike so no loss of ground clearance. Centre stand.
The installation is so easy it is unreal, I removed mine to correct the crash damage and repowdercoat. One bolt holds a cross pin. Lay on the floor and easy fix. To put the spring on, use a loop of string, n jobs a good un
