More fun riding up together! I'll be coming across from Bradford on the A65 to join the M6 at junction 36. There appears to be a Texaco filling station "Canal Garage" on the A65 close by - we could meet up there. It's about an hour and a half to Dumfries from there so meet around 9.30 - 9.45am?

    UPDATED - 11:30 at Dumfries MaccyD's

Gloria & Andy are coming to mine, DougieD and GaryM meeting Lucas60's place, Steve Lovatt, Andypandy and Trophycat coming north, converging on Macdonalds, our ancestral clan castle, just outside Dumfries on A76, Glasgow Road.

Then take a nice scenic bimble, through beautiful Sunny South Scotland countryside to arrive in Bellingham in the afternoon. About 100 miles, with a wee stop or two. Proper bimble, with possibly a wee peg scraping at some point!

I'm liking this, in the words of CW McCall :-

Maybe we can all ride up together then. I would imagine one or two others might join us too. Might I suggest we avoid the M6 though and go A1/A68 ?
There is also the possibility of meeting a southern/midlands bunch at Squires Cafe just off the A1 near Leeds.

I was thinking of calling in at a Monestry on the way! You could try and pick a fight with them?

But I think the're Budhists, and the only Budhist I know was Grasshopper on Kung-Fu and he would definitely kick yer arse in a fight:eek:

Although, i always thought, if i had to fight him, i would grab his forearms, cos they burns would hurt like hell if you squeezed them !!!!:tired_face::tired_face::laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing:

A1 and A68 would have been my choice of route from Bradford to Bellingham direct but it's a long way to Dumfries via that route - think I'll stick with the M6. :)

Sorry, I didn't envisage a link to Dumfries.
When I was a kid my parents used to take me on holiday up to Ayrshire and we used to have a stop in Dumfries. As a kid I thought it was a lovely town. I visited the place forty years later and thought it was a right sh1t hole. I've no idea what it's like today.

Well, we're only meeting the clan "Macdonalds" there so we don't have to stay long!

I'd like to but it's going to be a bit early for me, I'll keep an eye out though in case things change.

Straight to Bellingham would be boring for me and the pubs would be open :p so best go for a ride out before the festivities begin :grinning:

Not on this occasion Steve. I've been up and down the M6 a few too many times. I'm either going the scenic route through the Yorkshire Dales and North Pennines or up the A1 & A68.

I know its a bit early but my trip to Bellingham starts on Thurs Via 5 days in Nottingham (w^rk) and a couple of days in Scotland.
Anyway on my route to Notts I'm gonna get a bacon butty at Super sausage Potterspury as Ive heard such good things about it, intending to get there around 1:30
