A nice days ride from Inverness to Campbeltown with a pit stop at the Green Welly.

The Long and Winding Road is scenic but lousy for overtaking......and Campbeltown is not exactly a ‘destination’ but it has some serious watering holes......

.......however the loch itself could only ever contain whisky. And you frae Inverness.....the shame!

Down Loch Ness on to Fort William then Tyndrum then cut back to Dalmally and over the hill to Inveraray and then all the way down the peninsula to our destination Campbeltown, what’s not to like and more than enough passing opportunities :)

The Long and Winding Road (McCartmey?) is just the bottom bit down the Kintyre peninsula. I was nearly totalled there trying to overtake a drunk in an artic taking blind corners on the wrong side of the road and, yes, I shopped him. There are plenty of short opportunities but, generally, it is much closer country than further North.

Well we all have our opinions and ours obviously differ, I’ve rode pretty much all the roads in Scotland and they all have their merits. We were on a run not a race.
