I was disappointed with their buffet style breakfast when I went there one day last summer. Nice ride out for me though and hopefully their made-to-order grub is better.

 

Been here many times for breakfast. It's very good, quality ingredients, well cooked, proper big teapots, staff dress in 50's attire. Lot's of 50's/60's memorabilia.

In a quiet little village just off Mortimer Rd which links the two aforementioned roads. The road itself is a great ride. The cafe and deli provides a top quality breakfast but it's shut Mon & Tue. A class act.

 

That looks an inviting place Andy. I’ve come across many so called good cafes that were ‘orrible and greasy which the rest of the bike lads love but I like summat better like this.

 

Just moved to Lincolnshire .Any body know any good café in darkest Lincolnshire ( apart from Willingham Woods )

 

I can recommend their ham, egg and chips

 

Not especially bike related but I've been to one at Sheepgate on the A52

 

Also, I believe Sports bike shop have opened one, they are on the A16 south of Boston .

1) BlueBird Cafe

It's hard to find as you seem to be driving through a nice housing estate until you come across a potholed track, leading to a pot holed carpark (or moon crater). If you don't mind a bit of off-roading, you will eventually bump your way to the cafe, which is next to the pebble beach with both indoor and outdoor seating. Food is good and reasonably priced (for down South, I am sure those from Yorkshire will burst a blood vessel when they get the bill)...
I had a really nice double burger with Roquefort cheese, loads of chips and a home made (I think) coleslaw. It can get really busy on a nice day but the wait isn't normally too bad.

2) Sea Lane Cafe


EDIT: Having gone there today and not being served breakfast only 4 minutes after curfew of the lunch/dinner menu coming into force - may I point out they were are still cooking and serving other breakfasts. I'll not go there again - they don't quite understand customer service. Its not like it was even busy either - still it was their choice to watch £20 walk out the door (and never come back).

On the (pebble) beach with great views of the sea and distant wind farm. On really hot days they pump power INTO the turbines and spin them into blow mode so that you can get a gentle cooling breeze on the beach. Lots of choice on the breakfast menu but it does stop getting served at 11:30. A popular place with the locals, which I think is a good sign. There is a car park right out side - we sometimes abandon our bikes on a grassy area past a gate and bollards as the spaces get jammed with bloody cars.

3) Whiteways Cafe

On a sunny day you can have a long wait to order your food/drink and even longer to get served. There is no indoor seating but they have recently built (building) a covered outdoor table area. Other than that there are several wooden table/bench type of things. The toilets are RANK. Prices are extortionate for such poor service and facilities, and the food isn't even particularly good.
I'd suggest taking a picnic and nibbling on a sarnie as you look at the bikes and chat with the bikers.
Occasionally BMW have had a traveling show room and test ride facilities parked up which adds to the entertainment.

I'll probably get flamed for the Whiteways review as am sure someone must like the place. In my humble opinion I think they're pants - they can't even be bothered to do a proper web page ffs...

One a recent ride out we got pissed off at Whiteway’s as the queue were awful so we headed home via the backroads and stumbled upon this nice little place!


3) Riverside Tea Rooms

We came across this cafe/tea room/restaurant when we gave up on Whiteways (Bury Hill). It’s located by the River Arun and near to the Amberley Museum http://www.amberleymuseum.co.uk - which is a great little place to visit if you like engineering of the olden days. Nicely presented and worth a visit.

Back to the cafe/tea rooms… They have indoor and outdoor facilities. I don’t know what the food was like as we only had drinks but the place was heaving. There was a v nice woman there that looked very similar to the teacher in the ‘Laughs’ thread who was photographed by a lecherous father as she was presenting his son with an award… Sorry got distracted again - it’s the meds! There are great views of the river and South Downs. You can also hire a little boat for a pootle along the river Arun if that takes your fancy. We plan to go back for some food at some point.


4) The Orchard

Stopped off here one the way to Littlehampton recently (the day we were hassled by a Tesla). It doesn’t seem to be a biker cafe but there were a few classic cars in the car park. The food was great and good value - in addition to the usual English breakfast they did kippers and other exotic fare. It is not easy to find unless you know it’s there. At national speed limits, it looks more like a pub as you pass by. Seems popular with the locals of all ages and another biker eventually turned up, so someone else on two wheels is aware of it


5) Lillies of Stockbridge

Went there once on an extraordinarily hot Sunday in 2018. Stockbridge is a pretty little town/village with a great hunting/shooting/fishing shop that is worthy of a look. The cafe itself is lovely. It would have been nice to sit outside and people watch but it was full so we were sat at a window table inside. Great service, food and price. Well worth a visit and have a mooch along the high street for a few minutes to see the trout in the stream (at certain times of year!)...


Everyone has a different opinion of what a good cafe should be and we have eaten in them all - with and without cockroaches, plastic cutlery and wooden sporks - but given a preference we tend to the ones that are nicely located and have nice views - oh that reminds me of a great burger van that parks up in a car park on the hills above Portsmouth - damn can't think what its called...

PS: I was joking about the wind farm being used as air conditioning...

Great cafe, clean, great food, and good prices. Owner and her husband are both bikers.

 

Again not bike related especially but depending on where you are in Lincolnshire the Quayside deli at Burton Waters is in a great location, A57 just north of Lincoln .

Route 11 on the A11 between Attleborough and Wymondham, Norfolk is good. Food is good, service is good and they love bikes! If you are in a big group its best to book the food in advance as that way you all get it together.

 

The Fossil Riders often meet at Waterloo Cafe a mile or so south of Market Harborough towards Northampton. Ulysses and the Fossils use the Touchdown Cafe on Wellesbourne Airfield in Warwickshire. The cafes on the old railway line from Leicester to Loughborough at Rothley, Quorn and Mountsorrel are a different type of stop and there are sometimes steam trains running.
