    Hello,

Let me introduce myself since I am new here! I live just to the west of Baltimore, Maryland / USA. I will be picking up a new 2022 T100 (Red/White) this coming Thursday. Very excited and got a good "near end of year" deal. Most recent bike was a 2016 BMW F800GT. Had some things about that bike that I eventually didn't care for and sold it in June. I had ridden a T100 in September of 2021 at an outdoor motorcycle show and it instantly put a smile on my face!

I wonder if anyone can answer a question I have. I was looking at having the dealer install the Grab Rail Mounting Kit / Chrome (part number A9759192). I was looking at this to give me the ability to have a rail to wrap straps around for some tail bags I have. Without any kind of rail, I would have to run the straps from side to side directly under the rear fender. That does not seem like a good option to me.

I was wondering if anyone here has this on their T100? If so, is there any room between the rail and the rear fender to run straps, or does the rail sit flush against the fender? Especially wondering how much room between rail and fender in the area indicated by the red arrow line in the picture above. I am also thinking this mounting kit (rail) would be a good option for a place to grab when putting bike on the center stand (which I am getting installed). As a side note, I did not intend to add the actual Grab Rail to the mounting kit rail.

I asked the dealer about this but the salesman didn't seem to have a positive answer. I may speak to someone in their service department this week but thought I would throw it out to some actual owners.

Also, if anyone wants to provide input about how they strap rear bags onto the seat without any rail would be great as well!

Thanks to all in advance and looking forward to getting the bike and having discussions with other owners on this forum!

    Cheers!

Will add something else to this in regard to space for running straps...

How flush does it sit against the bottom of the seat as well??
