    Hi,

I've decided to splash out on a little torque wrench. Now that I'll be using it I'm hoping someone can confirm the fuel pump mounting bolts torque. My Haynes manual says 5nm, but I've seen it listed at 9nm online. 5nm seems correct to me, it's just setting a thick rubber seal. Can anyone confirm?

    Thanks

Thanks, I'll stick with 5nm as you suggest.

Just do up FT by hand with the appropriate spanner size.
    It's always worked for me.

I'm afraid the concept of using a torque wrench on small bolts/nuts is alien to me i would just tweak it up until it felt right.

I have always just done things up at this small torque by hand as well, it's just that there are 12 bolts securing a pretty vital rubber seal and I just wanted to get them even. If I had the tank back from the painters I would have just got on with it, but am still waiting which led to me ruminating, which led to me buying the torque wrench. It's quite interesting as 5nm has even less feel to it than I imagined.

    Cheers
