Sorry folks. It's my fault. It always rains when I'm due to have a biking holiday or go anywhere on the bike. The last time it did this I took the car instead, but I don't think I would be too popular rolling up in the car.
Up until your post Wayne, I was feeling a bit sad at not being there with you guys. But it's a big birthday for me tomorrow - presents, party etc so unfortunately I won't be there. On the upside, it's scheduled for 30°+ here for the next week - so not all bad then. Have the very best time of your lives guys - and keep safe. Have one for me in the evening would you ? I'll be thinking about you all.
Never mind Jez, it looks as if kitchen-cooking will be our best deal anyway! (And you have less stuff to carry around with you..) My WX-App still says 'sunny-spells' among the rain showers. I stay optimistic.
If i had more time i could have done a Triumph table quiz, Well a biker one anyway. Just for the crac. Maybe next year .
That's very much appreciated. We'll see how ugly things get. I haven't camped in years, but I'm not made of sugar either. Regarding the metal head - badass biker - ginger-head rocker - anything-engineer, I doubt he will take you up on that... Sometimes I wonder if he's not the son of an actual viking and a mountain bear... ( Sorry Dan... )
Hadn't thought of the laces being a safety issue Jez - good thought though as I ride in Doc Martins all the time nowadays. I'm assuming you're worried about them coming loose?
That made me laugh, i used to do the carrier bag trick when i was young and had no pennies for Luxuries like waterproof boots for my bike riding in the wet. It works really well so well in fact they charge you for carrier bags now Elastic Bands.... essential bit of kit
I often ride wide with laced boots (Red Wing Iron Ranger), and, of course, I make sure the knot is tied up properly. Not to mention, even untied those laces would be too short to reach the wheels. But I appreciate the concern (gotta love the care have for each other... ). And I'll bear it in mind if I ride with hiking boots, which laces might be dangerous is loose. When not commuting I usually ride with a pair of lace free mid-calf boots, but those are not waterproof. And if the Sealskinz hold up in rain, they will be eventually give up to strong rains. very soon, though, those will be no worries anymore, I'm gearing up with the TCX Fuel boots.
I'd never thought of it like that Jez - you've put the shits up me good and proper Thanks mate. We're havin' a bit of a do tomoz night in the local alehouse - pop across if you're about.
