I was listening to the engineers on the radio. The engineer in the diesel was telling the steam engineer he was holding his unit at idle. Got a load of pictures of other train traffic as well. All in all a fun morning. ...J.D.

Have an old Uniden Bearcat Trunk Tracker II. (BC245XLT). It's old, on about it's 4th. battery pack, but 300 channel, fully programmable. ...J.D. FYI: They were running railroad channel 72 when they went by here.
The Big Boy (Train with tender weighs 1.2 million pounds) is making a tour of the western USA to commemorate the 150th aniversery of the completion of the first transcontinental railroad. additional pics attached that were taken sunday 100 miles east of my home. Weather forecast indicated I would have to leave in freezing temperatures so I drove and did not ride the bike. This is the worlds largest steam locomotive ever built, and several were built in 1941 to haul supplies quickly across the USA for the war effort.
