Back in early '95 I bought a new Daytona 1200 from Riders in Bridgewater. I moved to Ireland a couple of years later, selling it on to my mate Keith in Milton Keynes. After 10 owners and 24 years it turns up not two hours from me in Northern Ireland. I wasn't looking for it but I had to have it back! I duly did the deal and it purred all the way home. It needs some very minor attention but the engine is sound. Thanks to the previous owners for the copious oil changes.

Anyone out their recognise it, if so did you do anything of significance to it, e.g. starter sprag modification? It is pretty much 100% original at the moment, just the usual modified clip-ons mounted above the top yoke instead of below.

Thanks. I've been a member for a little bit, my main bike a Tiger 1200, just couldn't let this one pass by.

Yes, I really am, it's a real head turner too. I know it's no 50's or 60's classic but I rarely saw these at the time or since!

That is SO cool, XCaTel! What a great circle that bike has made. Coincidence? I think not. I don't believe in coincidence. Enjoy the reunion! Your bike was purring all the way home because it was glad to be back with daddy. :)

what a result :) well done . I sold my 1978 Z1000 (of 14 years) back to it's original owner a couple of years back , as I pulled into his driveway he shouted "my babies come home ! " was great to see him so happy :)

I did the same with my Daytona 1996 900!
Not as long a gap in between I sold it in about 2007 and bought it back in 2013!
Something about it just makes me love riding it.

Wow, that's in fantastic nick Peter, absolutely spotless and another great story. I'm thinking about a set of LSL Superbike bars to save my wrists now! (I'm not sure I could go for that rear rack though o_O)

That's awesome, Peter! Did you originally buy it new? I'm sure your Daytona is glad to be reunited with you and back "home" in your garage. Happy riding!! :)
