Hi, not sure if this bike specific, so please redirect as required... On my 2002 speed triple 955i I have connected up a phone holder and 5v/2A usb charger. The usb has a tiny on/off switch...but... It is currently just connected direct to the battery ... Fine if I turn the usb off...not so if (when!) I forget. I know that i can/could connect the live to a switched live... But does it matter what? For example could I connect it to the side light - in the headlight? That only comes on with the ignition...or will I pop a fuse? Or just simply find any switched live in the loom and connect in to it? Any advice gratefully received - as always
The draw from your charger is quite small, I would connect into the tail light or number plate light, both of these are ignition live and you can usually pick up the wires under the seat which makes it easier to connect into than in the headlight
