Many thanks for your prompt response. The C6 is my favoured unit as it's the larger of the two but still less than 10mm bigger than my Iphone in each direction.

I had been looking at my two old Drift cameras that have loop recording facility on power up but these units have got the lot.

I paid £145 for 1 drift camera. £122 for the Pro 6. No brainer really. That was one of the reasons I bought C6 pro. I still have the Drift camera, and will still use it.
But having camera's front and rear is a bit better. The app that they recommend to download footage from the unit doesn't work. If you're using Android Auto, you have to disconnect/stop Android Auto, then the the app will work. I don't know if it's a known problem, but it wouldn't put me off buying one, you just have go round the houses a little bit to get the result you want.

I bought a couple of Drift Stealth cameras when we went to NY for the new year 10 years ago as the exchange rate was really favourable and the price was fixed at 100 £ and $. At that time Drift were streets ahead of GoPro but sadly stagnated soon afterwards.

Android Auto wont be a problem as I have now gone over to the Dark Side entirely with iPhone, iPad, iMac and Macbook. The way you can copy something on your iPad and then immediately paste it onto any of your other devices convinced me that this was the way, as Mando would say.

As for action cams I purchased an Insta 360 X4 early last year and could well look at one of their 360 Antigravity drones come Black Friday this year.

Well, you made me put my C7 together, not hard wired yet. Not sure about the size tho, might be a tad too big, the mount is a bit flimsy, ball and socket and quite wobbly. Display is good and features are handy, google, waze, myroute-app all work well.
I'll need a test ride but a wee bit too chilly at the moment IMG_7911.jpeg

Ive just read on their facebook page, someone said the gps is only for the camera videos and recording the routes you're riding not the route app you're using as that still comes through the phone. The only way to use the routes, if no signal, is downloaded maps from your planner app. I don't think you can connect the phone through the C6

You can download user defined areas of Google Maps, whether they can then be used in the likes of Waze or not I am unsure. Tom Tom also allows the downloading of maps for signal poor areas.
