As per title really. My son and his partner have ants in the house which they obviously want rid of, but they have a one year old son who is desperate to know everything about everything so poison is not an option. Any recommendations as to a child friendly ant powder or summat would be gratefully received!

Cheers all. He has found the nest at the foot of an outside wall so their days are now numbered!

Liquid aluminium, and when it cools down you dig it up and have yourself an interesting art piece for your man-cave

My FIL has some of those plug in ant repelling things, think he got em off the net, and they work surprisingly well. Summat to consider if the little buggers migrate elsewhere after the SND option.

Banzai! Nippon ant killer. Tiny droplet and they do all the work taking it back and destroying the nest. Just put it beyond children and pets’ reach.

Diatomaceous earth, basically a powdered sedimentary rock found at garden centers. You pour some of the powder across where the ants or other crawly bugs are treading and they carry it back to the nest. It scratches and imbeds in their exoskeleton causing them to die from dehydration I believe. Nothing poison about it to humans or pets. Or pet humans.

Haven’t heard that in a while. Not since my Aussie fam introduced to me the phrase “I hope an emu knocks your chook house down” :joy:
