When I arrive at a meeting in bike gear and someone asks did you come on a motorbike? I Reply "yes it's too far to walk in this kit"

Said by a car driver who pulled out of a side road and nearly wiped out the owner of my local bike shop "excuse me but you do know that cars have priority over motorbikes don't you".

    Biggest BOO BOO ever:
I walked into a cafe where I’d agreed to meet a new acquaintance who rode bikes. I didn’t really know him that well as I’d only met him at this same cafe a few times. He was ahead of me in the queue and said “ we are sat over there “. And pointed to a table where a young lady was sitting .
I ordered my food and went to join the table and as I joined the lad got up to go to the counter for something else.
So me being me opened the conversation with this young lady “ so are you on the back of Lee ?”’
    Indignant answer “. no , I ride myself thanks”’……
Turns out it was @bikerkaz who has her own blog, website, YouTube channel and everything else in the social media world….!
SHOT MYSELF IN THE FECKIN FOOT…
She has probably ridden 10 times more miles than me over the last few years.
A life lesson learned and I humbly apologised for making a 1970’s assumption.
And a lovely girl she is too. Writes a cracking blog and YouTube pieces.
    What a boo boo…! :tired_face::weary_face::weary_face:

I remember a pub in Bude by Crooklets beach coming out with with that crap back in the 70s. I went back in 10 mins later (minus leather) and ordered a dozen or so drinks. Pints in glasses and just about to pay when the landlady starts shrieking "i told you to get out we don't serve your type here" i turned and left leaving her with a dozen pints sat on the bar. :yum

One bike I bought new in 1983 , I could have bought two Average Family Sedan's , A Laverda RGS 1000 Cost me $7,300 plus about $1,300 in on road expenses (rego & ins etc).
A four door Holden was $4,300 all in !

    1. "Nice bike, can I have a go?"..... No

    2. When taking a pillion "don't crash", trust me I don't want to crash anymore than you, less actually as it'll cost me money on top of the pain.

You're certainly not the first to say something similar to a woman rider, @Oldskool, or to make that assumption. I still get asked that too often--but less than I did even ten years ago, thank goodness.

Just looked up and bookmarked Bikerkaz.com. It'll be a fun read and resource. Thanks!

    1. As @Adie P said, "Why have you got three bikes? You can only ride one at a time." And after asking the question, they always laugh.

    2. "How does a little thing like you (annoying even without the second part) hold up a big bike like that?" My pat response is, "Balance".

    3. "Do you ride your bike to work every day?" This is actually a somewhat reasonable question---except for when we're in the hot months here in Arizona and it's about 115ºF when I'd be riding home at the end of the day!:sun:

    4. "Can I have a ride on the back?" I think I'll start responding by asking if they have their helmet and boots handy.

    5. "What's the fastest you've ever gone?" This question is the motorcycle equivalent of the scuba diving-related question, "How deep do you dive?" My answer to that one is always, "Only as deep as I need to go to see what I want to see." I can't quite come up with a similar response to the motorcycle speed question, though. :joy:
