I got an NSU Quickly a couple of years ago as I thought Diane might like it.... however having ridden it, it was sooo slow and difficult to change gears (twist the clutch!) that I thought Diane would be more likely to have an accident, so sold it again!
Love the GS550, one of my best bikes I've had, and drool-worthy want a CBX1000!

Started off in the early 80's with a Montessa Cota 247 totally off road but rode it anyway. Then I was given a Honda CB50J still got it (currently being restored), Yamaha RD200 DX, rode it illegally on provisional :) Yamaha YB100, Honda SL125 still got it (currently being restored too) Montessa Cota 200, Suzuki GT250, Honda 250 Super Dream, Kawasaki GT550, Kawasaki GPz900 A7, Suzuki TL1000R which I still have. Had access to my dad's Honda C70 which was my winter wheels at the time I had the GPz at 76 he retired from riding due to stupid drivers and got rid of it a few years back he's 87 now and would ride if the roads were quieter. Should have kept it but it helped someone out who needed transport.

I wish I had kept them all.. I know where the GPz and the GT550 are but are unavailable to buy back. The GPz is in super condition just like when I sold it in 2001. Got a few pics but would like more.

Well, the Speed Twin wasn’t listed in the first poll, but I still claim my bike is a Triumph :)

    Early bikes: 1982 Yamaha SR250, 1985 Honda Shadow 500

Here are my more recent non Triumphs with pics:
2003 Ducati ST4s ABS (sportbike with bags),
2007 Ducati GT1000 (the modern classic before the modern classic was cool),
2008 BMW K1200S (ludicrous speed, I looked down one day and was leisurely cruising along at over 130, not even in top gear!)
2014 BMW RNineT (great all around standard bike, but the Speed Twin stole my heart...)

Those are some thoughtfully chosen bikes, Bill. Nicely done.

Bolosun might be my hero, though! That’s quite a list.

    For me:

    1983 Suzuki 650
    1983 Kawasaki GPz 305
1986 Honda 500 Interceptor (great bike)
    1990 Honda CBR1000
    2001 Yamaha R1
    2001 BMW R1100S
    2007 Aprilia Tuono
2001 Aprilia Mille R (sentimental favorite)
2008 Moto Guzzi 1200 Sport (despite the name more of a tourer—I did two 800 mile days and a 950 mile day on that bike)
    2009 BMW K1300S
    2013 Aprilia RSV4
    2005 Aprilia Tuono Racing

Only fairly recently have I come to Triumph. I have a modern Bonneville and a Speed Twin along with the 2005 Tuono right now.

My son's first bike was a Honda 500 Interceptor and I agree it was a great bike -loads of fun and just right riding position for it.
