Just as well I am not joining you......but might I suggest religion, gender issues and Brexit are not for discussion?! ;)

The "Fife Arms" in Braemar has finally reopened, it's taken 5 years to renovate it:dizzy:! it looks like they have made a great job,it might be just a bit posh for us though:eek:, some couple who have a holiday home just up the road officially opened it ;)

Glad I missed this, i'd end up crashing on every corner, being distracted by the views..... (and the whisky)

I was thinking on my way up to Corran on the monday, rather than take the direct route across Ballachulish bridge, to make a right at Glen Coe Inn and do the Loch Leven loop. Went past there lots of times but never actually got to do it.
Would that be worth the effort you reckon?

Off the top of my head it is a 22 mile detour over a pretty winding route that is nowhere very fast but quite scenic when you are not in the trees. I would make the decision based on available time on the day.

Well, I'll be making my way up from Newcastle that day, so it would be at the end of the day's journey. I've just always been curious what it's like, but never had the time to do it.

I can only describe it as similar to most roads alongside a sea loch but after 250 miles and 4+ hrs your backside will dictate your appetite for another 40 mins before you grasp a beer!

The southern shore may well be in shadow, depending on how late you arrive, and the views from the northern shore road are probably better. Kinlochleven? Blink and you will miss it. Plenty of weathered concrete and hydroelectric plant.

We did the Kinlochleven loop last year,so I thought some folk might want to go over the ballachullish bridge this year.it's only about 12 miles extra doing the Kinlochleven loop and it is a brilliant road,it. Would bring the total miles that day to about 200 which is easy to do even if we take our time, maybe the folk that did it last year might want to go over the bridge and i could do the Kinlochleven loop with whoever fancies it?

any idea what time you will be at Glencoe? you could possibly meet up with the rest of us at the Clachaig Inn for a coffee before you do the Kinlochleven loop

Probably between 15.00 and 16.00, depending on traffic?

I think it was about 16.00 when we were at the Clachaig last year,so might be doable for us to meet up with you there

According to Google Maps my intended route (A68-M9-A85-A82) will take 5 hours. 16.00 should be doable, provided I get off the ferry relatively quickly.
