Hi all Had the bike a few week now and been on a few rides out, love the grunt of the bike however i still dont feel 100% confident with the front end, i under stand it will get light with speed with having no screen, but it feels very skitty/twichy when going over bumps also when cornering and does not fill me with confidence that its planted. ive had many bikes and never had this sort of issue,
May be worth just checking the tyres; pressure and condition. I have never been one to fiddle with suspensions myself but it may be worth taking the the bike to a suspension specialist and have it set up. K Tech suspension have a list of their dealers on their website. Triumph have tried to put a little more weight forward on the 2011/12 model with the battery right up in front of the tank and this is the model I run and it appears quite planted if a little harsh on the suspension. Have to say untill the weather warms up and I can get on some warm, dry un - salted Tarmac I have little confidence to push the bike to find its limits.
Jack where you from? i'm in the south east and know a few places... T3 racing & H&M to name a few.... I think i one of the only southerners on here anyway... feeling lonely....
ok had the bike checked over, tyre pressure done, adjusted the front end to see if it would ride better, however its worked to some extent but still to hard and still not giving me the confidence i would like, Was pointed in the direction of H+R, but gota consider cost, any one got any other ideas, ie/oil/springs/ect ect that may work and wont break the bank im not enjoying the bike at the moment and even considered changing (straight swap) to a Tuono
Is the bike new or used? You've checked the pressure etc. Might sound a bit obvious, but just wondering if the tyres might be squared off or even had it. A few years back I had a bandit, the handling went right off, thought I needed a new shock, changed the tyres (even though the tread looked ok) & it was transformed, as was my confidence in it.
got the bike with 800 mile on it tyres look like new, changed the pressure at the front to 38psi and rear 41 psi, as it says 41 0n the tyres, dont know if i can go any lower at the front with the psi ?? as and when the rear needs changing i will change the front aswell, i always got on with bt021 so might try them or even Michelin Pilot Road 3
i used H&M racing to set up my suspension on my KTM.. the difference was like night & day.. best £100 you can spend on your bike... they set it up for my weight (or close) and it made a massive difference and inspired confidence. May be worth a try .......
