    Good Day fellow Triumph Members.

Please if someone can advise i would appreciate it very much.

    I ride a 2007 Triumph Speed Triple 1050.

Necer had any problems woth the bike since i purchased it.

Currently experiencing a problem where the bike only runs on 2 cylinders. ( Culprit being cylinder 1 thats causing the problem)

I have changed spark plugs, Done Compression test all looks good, swopped plug leads around, and injectors also but still the same problem occurs.

Took my hand palm and whilst bike is idling i would close each throttle body individually to see which cylinder causes the problem.

On cylinder 1 throttle body the bike keeps running whilst i close it with my hand palm, on cylinder 2 and 3 throttle body closed with hand palm the motor sounds like it wants to shut down.

Only thing left to do for me is to open up cover and check valve clearances.

    Looking forward to your response.

    Thanks

When you say plug leads do you mean just the leads or the coil sticks?

    Hi Callumity,

I meant the coil sticks, that sit over the spark plugs.

Also checked that all cylinders have proper spark.

The bike starts but has rough idle and you can hear that its running on 2 cylinders.

......sounds like the most likely culprit is maybe a clogged fuel injector?

If she still runs with your palm over the throttle body on number 1 sounds like the inlet rubber is leaking

Welcome to the family. Yes all above is exactly what I would say. Could be valve clearances but try the rest. Could well be the injector. When sorted hit the upload a file button bottom right corner and show the inmates the steed.
    Regards
    Joe.

If the compression test was normal I doubt very much if the clearances are your problem, you don’t say how many miles the bike has done or if there is any service history with it. Does the problem move when the coil and/or the injector is moved or does it still miss on #1? If the coil and the injector are good and you are getting a spark on all cylinders do you have fuel getting to the injector?

Thanks Rocker. My next search for this problem is to strip of Throttles and see if the O rings on Intakes are still good.

Yorkshireman, Seems like the problem stays on Cylinder 1 even when I move the coils or injectors around.

100 percent correct. In the end it was clogged up injector. Many thanks to all for advice to get my triple up and running again.
