2003 triple speed speedo not working?

Evening all I have a problem with the speedo not working, is this an easy fix or do I have to remove the front wheel and replace the sensor?

 

did it work before or has it never worked? have you removed the front wheel, i know some bikes can be a bitch to get the sensor working after wheel removal

 

have you had a new tyre before it stopped working? that is the usual cause, then they break the magnet in the speedo drive. Replacements are available from a guy in Germany

 

I take that a 2003 Speed Triple's speedo is driven by the front wheel and not the gearbox?

 

Yes it's front wheel driven, not sure wether to remove and clean it and check magnets or just purchase a new one have found the part number Pfkl 1201343. Not cheep. Lol

 

W.O.T. (Lings) are expensive, you can try here,may be cheaper. I would have a play first tho if I were you,may just need a clean or putting back together properly . I believe it can be a finicky job but have no experience myself
