Hi everyone A couple of questions: anyone know the psi compression for this bike and has anyone taken this type of bike on a few days trip? When the summer comes back in Michigan I would like to take a long ride. Wanted to gets some feedback from anyone with this bike. Thank you in advance. Take care Dan
Hi Dan, and welcome! I could say that anything above 120 should be fine. However, as the figures you get will depend on test method (cold/warm, open/closed throttle etc.), I'd be more interested in any variation between the cylinders. If all three are consistent and 'up there', I'd be happy. Mine is a the sibling Thunderbird 900, and it is certainly comfortable enough for a multiday trip. Bike photos are always welcome.
Hi I’m getting 120 psi on all three cylinders. Can’t seem to find that info in my service manuals. Bike has 16.5k miles. Hoping that is the correct compression. Thank you.
Dan Mercer Cracking bike and in my humble opinion the best colour. Your bike is just about run in. So get it out and away you go. Joe.
Hi Sounds great. The only issue I’ve had is no one around Michigan will work on that old of a bike so I’ve had to learn a lot on my own to get it running. I’m hoping it’s running correctly now. The 16 mpg wasn’t quite getting it and as far as knowing you I’m cool with that. Take care my friend.
No kidding. I’m hoping I’ve got it figured out. Did a lot of carb adjusting and part replacements. And thank you. I’ll get it figured out one way or another.
