    @Eldon - yep there's no oil, just springs (hence called springers). If you look at the bottom of the forks there's three bolts on a lever arm that allow movement. The front one is fixed to the spindle (axle) then the second is on the front legs of the forks and the third one is on the back legs of the forks. As the wheel moves it moves the arm that then moves the front legs of the forks to compress the springs.
    They work really well and look pretty neat. No maintenance other than keeping shiny and oiling every so often at the sprindles.
