    Hi everyone,
So I'm ok with the spanners but am not good with a volt meter. I am in need of help and advice. I have this TR7 that has been cosmetically rebuilt including a new wiring harness. It has a modern rectifier and no diode. So does not conform to the workshop manual.. I would dearly love to find some help to check circuits
Enthusiast or professional. I'm in north Kent

    Wotcha Trevor, welcome.
You're better off with the rectifier/regulator. Easy to wire, two yellows connect to the alternator, black to negative battery, red to positive battery - unless you have positive earth then just reverse the red and black.
Other than that check the circuits by switching the bike on and seeing if everything works. If so, alls good, go ride. Or do you have a specific problem?
I'm sure they'll be a Sparks near you to help with the electrickery. Loads of mobile bike electrical guys on t'tinternet.
