Many thanks for the information, it goes to show you can't always keep to a brand loyalty.

So far Dave i have always managed to find NOS original Triumph A&E pistons and rings, if not i have used Goetze or Hastings rings. I also have a few friends that are using the LF Harris pistons and rings successively that i might try out on an engine rebuild.

Once more you did a great job darkman, but now comes the final sprint, you should definitely take enough time and work with the utmost care on the wheels. :yum

I can't fit the downpipes yet as the bike is on a stand with no wheels, as soon as the wheels are built and are on it i will fit them and post a pic :)

Just pulling your leg as you stated that after you built the wheels it'd be finished...
I love that colour scheme - just gorgeous!

    Top job!
Are you nervous about the first start up or have you previously had it running?
Apologies if the answer is in a previous post.

I have used Goetze rings in all my recent triple builds and have no smoking or oil burning afterwards

Lol, never nervous. As it's a total rebuild i know every part is new or within tolerance. It's a very basic engine unlike modern ones and they normally just start first kick, i always prime the crank and then turn the engine over until i get pressure on my remote pressure tester.

Got the spokes in and mated to the newly chromed dunlop rims and Tig finished off hanging and truing the wheels for me.
