'04 S3 Airbox Question

Hi, I have just bought an '04 UK model S3 955i as a winter project and am doing some routine servicing & recomissioning as it has been laid up for a while prior to my ownership.

While having the airbox off, I found a split hose, which I have ordered from Fowlers. According to the fiche and equipment on this bike, it has the German & Californian air / emissions control system fitted.

Has anyone else found this on their "UK" bike?

Should I instead look to remove it (pipe is on factory order) & if I do remove it and fit blanks to the cam cover, will my mapping be screwed if I fit a High TOR pipe (bought but not fitted yet.)

I ended up ordering all the perished hoses and reinstalled the system as it should be.

Good old Fowlers for parts availability.
