A jumper wire from the battery to the neg feed on the coil will bypass the wiring, disconnect the white ignition feed wire from loom.
Seat cowl as well :-)

The whole road is coned off and open to paying riders from the bridge end of the road, i haven't been for ages as there are better places to go...

I guess the cylinder head is still on the engine as the head bolts are still in place, not sure its worth the effort of digging it out though Lol.

Yes primary on the left, its normal for oil to condensate in these bikes and that's why Triumph recommend changing oils at 1500 miles or yearly....
Have you changed the oil in the primary case, if not drain and refill with 130 ml of engine oil.
