Many thanks for your prompt response. The C6 is my favoured unit as it's the larger of the two but still less than 10mm bigger than my Iphone in each direction.

I had been looking at my two old Drift cameras that have loop recording facility on power up but these units have got the lot.

I paid £145 for 1 drift camera. £122 for the Pro 6. No brainer really. That was one of the reasons I bought C6 pro. I still have the Drift camera, and will still use it.
But having camera's front and rear is a bit better. The app that they recommend to download footage from the unit doesn't work. If you're using Android Auto, you have to disconnect/stop Android Auto, then the the app will work. I don't know if it's a known problem, but it wouldn't put me off buying one, you just have go round the houses a little bit to get the result you want.

I bought a couple of Drift Stealth cameras when we went to NY for the new year 10 years ago as the exchange rate was really favourable and the price was fixed at 100 £ and $. At that time Drift were streets ahead of GoPro but sadly stagnated soon afterwards.

Android Auto wont be a problem as I have now gone over to the Dark Side entirely with iPhone, iPad, iMac and Macbook. The way you can copy something on your iPad and then immediately paste it onto any of your other devices convinced me that this was the way, as Mando would say.

As for action cams I purchased an Insta 360 X4 early last year and could well look at one of their 360 Antigravity drones come Black Friday this year.

Well, you made me put my C7 together, not hard wired yet. Not sure about the size tho, might be a tad too big, the mount is a bit flimsy, ball and socket and quite wobbly. Display is good and features are handy, google, waze, myroute-app all work well.
I'll need a test ride but a wee bit too chilly at the moment IMG_7911.jpeg

Ive just read on their facebook page, someone said the gps is only for the camera videos and recording the routes you're riding not the route app you're using as that still comes through the phone. The only way to use the routes, if no signal, is downloaded maps from your planner app. I don't think you can connect the phone through the C6

You can download user defined areas of Google Maps, whether they can then be used in the likes of Waze or not I am unsure. Tom Tom also allows the downloading of maps for signal poor areas.

What is the battery/charge life like on the Pro 6?

You have to hard wire it to the bike.
There's no way that you can charge it up for say a few hours. It doesn't work like the way your phone does. You turn your ignition on, and it comes on, turn your ignition off, it goes off too.

Many thanks. Have just pressed the button on the deal, including the blind spot monitoring radar at 25% Christmas discount.

I think you'll be more than happy when you get it on your bike. I still have my Garmin XT on the bike. But having another unit that I can follow Google maps, Waze, or MyRouteApp on is for me a big bonus.

Waze is my usual go to satnav app. I assume that as the CarPlay is just replicating what my iPhone would have shown I will still get the audio messaging via my Cardo comms?

I'm on Android Auto, and everything that is on my phone, is on the Aoocci unit when turned on. I have no trouble with instructions from the unit once it's paired to my phone. All in all, for me it's win win, I can enjoy my music and get directions as you go.
You use Waze, have you tried MyRouteApp at all, as a planning tool I don't think it can be beaten. I've the gold membership and I always do my routes on the laptop ( or the app if you like that ) and send it to my Garmin. A million times better than Basecamp, which I also use with no trouble, it's just MyRouteApp offers you so much more with a gold subscription.

took my C7 out for a test ride today and was impressed with the screen, used myroute app through it and everything was really clear. Why not just use the phone? well my screen is to small,13 mini, as is the tomtom. Only gripe is that it it has a really flimsy ball and socket mount unlike all the others that have a plate that can be removed thus letting you get a quick release adapter for it. Pays yer money,,,,,,.
Anyway I think I'll hard wire it now.

They do do a QD adapter, I’ve included one in the recent order of my C6 Pro All in One. When I get to fit it I will do a post on fitting it and the rear facing radar blind spot detector.

Unfortunately the c7 only has a moulded ball on the back
    Screenshot 2026-01-09 094731.jpg

Now whether I risk cutting it off and gluing a qaudlock adapter to the back or not is something I'll have to ponder over.
The main draw back really is that you can't get one with a powered mount so that you can just quick release without the faff of unplugging the wires, like car carpuride, £150 more expensive! but as I said for less than £100 it's bloody good value.

Ah! that's a bummer. I'm sure there must be a 3D printing whiz amongst our fellow members that could come up with an adapter to fit the ball and then provide a Quadlock socket to fit their extensive range of mounts.
