Usa 2020 Triumph Bonneville T120 Cruise Control Installation, Which Model?

Hi @StephenZ I might be able to help, I was researching the possibility of fitting Cruise Control to my Street Cup (based on T100) and downloaded Triumph's instructions, which lists different accessory part numbers for T100 and T120. The part numbers are based on the last 6 digits of the VIN Number (the number stamped into the headstock). And also seems to depend on whether you have a Euro 4 or 5 engine (are there 2 or three plugs on the ECM? (the large black box under the seat, above and behind the battery)) and does your bike have DRL?

If you can let me know the above, I'll let you know if a part number exists on the instructions I have.

This comes with the caveat that I'm in the UK, but on the Triumph Instructions website you only get an English option.

Based on what you’ve told me, you have two choices depending on whether you have DRL on your bike or not. Heated grips aren't going to make a difference as far as I can tell and I'd be surprised if they did.

The Triumph accessory part numbers are
A9638178 for a T120 without DRL. And
A9638179 for a T120 with DRL.

In both kits you'll get a complete left hand clutch and switch gear assembly and the front half of the right hand controls (i.e. master cylinder and brake lever). The difference in part numbers probably reflects the different connectors needed.

You can verify this by going to the Triumph Instructions website yourself, its Triumph Instructions.com and entering either of the above part numbers.

Next step after identifying which kit you need, double check with the parts department of your local Triumph dealer.

The ECU needs an update for the cruise control, otherwise all you end up with is an additional (non functioning) button on the switchgear.
It's possible to purchase the switchgear, mount it and and connect everything up to reduce labour charges should you wish, then take it in to the dealers for an ECU update or use TuneEcu to update the ECU with the correct map yourself.

You've now passed the limit of my knowledge / ability. At the point of updating the ECU I'd be going to a dealer. sorry. Anyone else know?
