Hi all, I bought a 2005 tiger 955i last summer and had a new stator fitted, no problems until now, 2000 miles later.
On a ride out earlier this month my tacho and speedo started flicking on and off then went off.
When I came to start my bike the next day it was dead, flat battery.
I swapped the battery and all was good for 100 miles then the same thing happened.
Do I need another new stator?
Also my speedo needle is stuck 95% of the way around the dial and moves the other 5% when travelling and stops at the little pin at 0mph.
Turning the bike off has no effect on this, any ideas please?

Either the stator has gone again or the rectifier has now gone open circuit , that is it isn't controlling voltages anymore. Speedo etc going haywire is a symptom of voltages going awray !!

    Almost certainly the regulator rectifier.

Thank you, is there a way I can check the regulator rectifier? I don't own any electrical testing equipment...

Or just replace it with one from Wemoto or similar.

Order a multitest meter from Screwfix or Amazon etc for about £10. There's plenty about. Instructions will show how to read the voltage across the bike's battery. If the voltage goes over 14.5 when the bike's running then the regulator is bad. There's loads of youtube stuff on how to test.
Let us know how you get on....

Thank you. Amazon prime should be delivering a multimeter today, will test and report back...

Make sure the bike is hot when you test.

I've ordered a new one, should be here Tuesday.
Any idea how to reset this speedo, or is it in the same club as the rectifier??
    Thank you ..
