Always pointing towards Birmingham! I’ve staggered past those sheds in the pic a few times with a pint of milk a newspaper at 7:30.
Well, you could’ve made the manual hydraulic pump a lot bloody lighter so when I had to move it 2 decks up, I wasn’t covered in oil and knackered. I loved that gun btw. Amazing to be there when in use. Simply amazing when the shell gets lifted and rammed in. Ah, memories...
Well, thanks! It’s receded somewhat... I remember the amount of requests for the shell casings we “officially “ had to dump over the side that ended up as ashtrays..... I said no to an officer request for one and it turned out to be the father of my girlfriend when I met them.... And, those fuc£ers were heavy at ammo ship time. Also, when painting the mag with anti static bats and ovies on whilst listening to the first Bobby brown album on my aiwa cassette. Heavy to move from one side to the other!
Has it changed much inside? I was on HMS EXETER (type 42) which is now razor blades for 5 years and whenever I see it, (or the phalanx) I wonder if it’s the same but with a new radar bouncing cover but essentially the same?
Probably have to flash the ECU every time it gets a new barrel.... As @Dawsy says, sorry for hijack chaps, endex!!!
And whats the problem with covid vaccine and the quickshifter problem on the speed? There’s a time and a place @andyc1 ....
Looks great! (even with the apple green bit...) but I hope you didn’t have a "hot" drink with you which would then mean it was a picnic! Heresy!!!!
Ha.... no coffee, no picnic. This is part of the Ridgeway long distance pathway. Where we live, up in the Chiltern Hills, has become very popular with people getting their exercise. You should see how they park their cars...It’s like they all have to park as close to the access as is possible, no matter how dangerously they have left their cars. They are going for a walk ffs. Why not park them safely a few hundred yards along the road...? Thankfully we can just put our boots on and go..!
You had quite the eventful trip, Dawsy! At least you got some beautiful photos out of the deal. And you did your good deed of the day by towing that old lady who was stuck.
