Along with the fly by wire throttle which is fantastic to use I managed to get through the town with roundabouts and traffic lights without putting my feet down once
So a very confident bike in slow moving stop/start situation’s
Once through Ponteland we were now rolling through the Northumberland countryside and were able to get a bit of a wriggle on once the traffic started to thin out
I have never consciously gave much thought to counter steering in the past as it tends to come naturally to us bikers
But as the twisties got a bit more twisty I found myself pushing on the bars to see what it was capable of
WOW I couldn’t believe that a bike this HEAVY could respond so well to steering input
Dunno what Triumph have done...Feckin witchcraft or something but I am amazed at how well this bike handles

After going over the border there’s a series of pretty tight left and right bends which can catch you out if you’re not ready for them but my confidence in CERBERUS was increasing with every mile
This part of the ride I had mentally prepared for and after watching YouTube videos of people praising the back brake I took some of these bends with a bit more gusto than maybe I should of
Absolutely gobsmacked at how good this back brake is at scrubbing off speed mid corner the bike staying on line and steering so true that I struggle to get my head round it
I simply can’t believe how well this bike handles it is beyond me how this can be

I’m struggling for the words
MONUMENTAL
STAGGERING
UNBELIEVABLE
That’ll do for starters
I can honestly say I’ve never experienced anything like it...it’s beyond powerful it defies belief
The TORQUE and I mean TORQUE has to be experienced to be believed
Greet BIG gobs of it everywhere throughout the range
Once past the ridiculous acceleration of first and second gear the engine finds strength like you wouldn’t believe
No wonder people laugh on those YouTube videos it’s absolutely stunning
Triumph have pinched Scotty’s Dilithium Crystal’s or the Flux capacitor from Back To The Future
The gearbox is like gravy it’s an absolute delight to use both up and down the box
On the down shifts I like to blip the throttle and you can feel the bike rock ever so lightly when you do it
The burbling from the engine when changing down or on the overrun is better than any rock band you can name
The Avon Chrome tyres fitted to this bike are worthy of praise for just being able to forget about them and concentrate on everything else

Great write up on your first ride Dilli, sounds like you're not just in lust , you're in LOVE .
Hinckley Triumph have always been able to make a chassis that handles so it is no surprise to me that the R3 would be any different .

Wishing you many, many more rides & experiences on board CERBERUS (really not sure about that name!).

What a good write-up, thoroughly enjoyed the read and the pics Although not the bike for me, I can only marvel at what Triumph have produced......a masterpiece of engineering that actually flies around the bends. Amazing! Enjoy the new ride and stay safe.

After sitting on one in store last week, then, falling off my lightweight ditchpump on Thursday (Don’t Ask) I’m convinced a R3 would be too much bike for me.
