Managed to find and buy this pile of rocking horse :poop::poop: A chrome single seat luggage rack for the Nightstorm :cool:

He has a couple of other Thunderbird items which I'll post in the Thunderbird section (he doesn't really do social media stuff) ;);)

We got the new battery for "Lola" coming by FedEx this week. I had to wait until the next credit card cycle to order it. [Keep all my credit card.balances at zero every month]. Cannot complain about that old battery. It was stone dead and had to be recharged before I could test ride this thing back in 20013. Been running that same battery all this time :) . Amazing to me ! ...J.D.

Got home from a family day out at 15:00hs and thought the sun is shining, the roads are dry so out came the tiger. It was a bit cool buy great riding conditions. Great to be able to get a dry ride in the current spat of wet weather.

Gave my triumph baby it's first bath, sunny and 68 f. today, tomorrow is supposed to be the same unusual weather. Was out and about riding for 3 hours, stopped at a petrol station, and a guy on a thruxton r was there, informed him about this forum.

Went for a ride in rural Leicestershire and had a great time! A bit cold and herds of mamils about but cobwebs off!
Mamil's are Middle Aged Men In Lycra (cyclists!) btw in case you were wondering!?

First decent day for weeks, took the Thruxton out for a good thrash and put the new suspension set up through its paces and moving to maximum preload on the stock suspension units is a big improvement, not great but I can live with it now:cool:
Back home now for wash and brush up:)

I had to get out on my Thruxton today as well. I've been out on my 865 Bonnie now and then over winter but the Thruxton was such a blast. The 1200 motors are so good. First ride on my new K-Tech shocks, they felt great but to be honest it is so long since I rode it on the stock shocks that I can't really point at any clear improvement. Low clip ons were a bit unsettling after the Bonnie, which has low superbike bars, but soon got used to them again.

    Roll on spring.

Good shout Tony, it was a lovely day for a run today, I think the thing with decent shocks is you don’t notice them! So you’re KTechs are probably a major improvement
I’ll be very interested in your experience with them because that upgrade is top of my list before Summer:) following by the lower bars, and the other gazillion things I’d like to do...

Suspension has always mystified me. My 865 Bonnie stock suspension was pretty bad and I noticed a clear difference with the YSS shocks I put on. Over time I've become unhappy with them and am going to put on some Hagon 2810 shocks - some very cheap YSS shocks going if anyone's interested. I think the stock 1200s shocks were ok, but I can't help tinkering, and I'm sure the K-techs are much better, am I a good enough rider to really exploit any difference, probably not. I think the placebo effect has as much impact as I just felt more confident. I had a Monster 1100s before my Thruxton with fully adjustable Ohlins. I messed around and to be honest didn't know what I was doing. In the end I put it back to standard, but I'm just under 11 stone and don't think I'm heavy enough to really upset the suspension anyway.

    Cheers

Weather was warm and dry for the first time in weeks, but the roads are covered in salt and mud. So I opted for a bit of tinkering today. Test fit a flat seat onto my Street Cup along with a set of Lomo panniers. The goal is to do some light overnight camping this season but the stock bullet seat will stay on most of the time.

Also tidied up the garage and put up some wall hangers. I know I don’t have a Daytona (yet) but that one was a freebie from a dealer.

Nice looking Speedy, I'm not a fan of the twin high level cans ( please be kind all Speed owners) I think your example looks less cluttered.

Working on my packing for weekend camping. The Lomo bags are sorted, now working on my Goose tent roll. It sits well but the tension straps I have don’t tighten well enough. I may use a set of ratcheting straps instead.
