I've done just over 1600 miles and the front brakes were making a really bad noise under breaking. I took them apart to apply some copper slip to reduce the noise only to find the pads are down to about 3mm each. Has anyone else had excessive wear on the front brakes? Not sure of its a dealer issue to replace them? Anyone else had the same problem?
Doubt you'll get the dealer to change the pads.... It may be you late breaking.... Or that's one of the excuses they will come up with.. Pads are after all a wear & tear item... I don't know of any issues, had Brembo myself for the last few years and they have always been spot on....
I'll buy some EBC sintered pads for it in a while. I do admit I ride it hard and brake hard I was just surprised considering on the Duke I had done 10k on a set before I had to change any and I rode that really hard!... Perhaps the material is soft.... 1600 miles is not a lot for a modern bike. Thanks for the reply
Agree 1600 is rubbish... Its a shame you don't know how much pad material was on them to start with..
That's a good point as the pads could be really thin when new compared to others. Will have to see what the EBC ones are like when I order them.. They could be thinner too!... Cheers
New EBC Sintered pads arrived and they are far from fat so I would imagine that the std Triumph ones are thin to start too. Done 60 miles on them now and I must say they are more progressive and I feel like I can stop now, less noise with less effort. Worth changing in my opinion. next problem is replacing an indicator I broke whilst moving the bike in and out the garage. Why oh why make the stems of the indicators out of hard plastic, especially as this bike is designed for off road and is likely to fall over a few times, every time it hits the floor that a new indicator stem and you can't buy them seperately so its a whole indicator at £38... FFS I think these need changing for small LED ones. Anyone done this modification and will the flasher unit need changing?
Get the small Oxford ones think they are straight forward swap... I have the triumph led indicators... Worst case you get the triumph led relay....its approx £10. I think..
Out of the brembos on my KTM I got 9K and had not even thought about changing them...depends how you ride Jim..
Not sure what to expect but I do ride fast and its a big bike to stop so I suppose I may be changing a few sets of pads!.

Well i ride hard and late break, Im on about 9.5k at mo, think I have about 2 or 3 mm left... Is it time to change then??? What to go for??
I bought the triumph relay and have now put the Oxford Nano LED's on and they are brilliantly bright, just make sure you get the angle right. I had some for £30 off ebay before and they were useless......
Same here.. Personally I'm staying with Brembos but I'm nowhere near 9 K.... I don't think they are cheap but they work.....
Looking at the fitment they could well fit so will have to pop into the Triumph dealer at the weekend and seek some advice! Cant leave the repair I made as it look shite!
I'm 43... But young at heart... Realised it was a letter instead of a space.. Kept missing the space bar on the pad....
