Awesome 80km of coastal roads today in howling winds and first sunshine for weeks. Nice rural roads in good condition without too much debris. Lunch and a beer then the 50km home.
Thanks for the suggestion. I'm aware of this issue, but as I don't have anything extra attached to my bike battery, like alarm, tracker or satnav mount I don't use a charger except in winter if the weather is bad enough that I don't ride for a couple of weeks.
I took a run up to walk around Aviemore today, for Thunder in the Glens. I arrived just in time to come up behind my old boss on his Rocket, stood and had a chat as the ride out started to pass by then we both joined in. We ended up doing some 40 mile ride out up past Lochindorb back to Grantown on Spey, around by Nethy-bridge and as the rest went back to Aviemore, I struck off to get home for the dog, 185 mile day, and so many bike on the roads to and from. The most surprising thing was how many people are out to wave and smile at the sides of the roads as we pass by, tousands of people two Wedding parties complete with Brides. Fancy dress, old, young, local and holiday makers picnics and BBQ's Grantown was 3 deep on the pavements. I was about a mile from the start of the parade and if you zoom in on the pictures you can see the bikes went on way out of sight, about 2 miles behind. On my way there. Part of the run. In the second last pic you will clearly see @andyc1 has got a wife, and bought a Harley, since the GMU, "Good luck to you."
A long run out with a BMW 1600 something or another owner. Devils Dyke, Worthing etc. Stopped for lunch at the Riverside Amberley but there was a 45 minute wait for food so just had a (very) cold drink and moved on. Interestingly though three other Tigers and their owners had just arrived followed by another that didn’t stop as it was too busy or because Tigers are generally solitary creatures. Must be the secret place where the Tigers go to have their picnics! Traffic was awful - if ur were in a cage! Hahaha...
Had a bimble out on the speed twin. Loads of bikes out today. I was going to go up to the Ponderosa, but met a lad who had just come from there and said it was mad; so I gave it a miss.. maybe tomorrow?
Nice run to Matlock Bath for some fish n chips at lunchtime. Only a couple of Triumphs there while I was about. Back home by 14.30 so probably missed the masses.
Also today ;- I tried a cheap phone mount and used my phone ( Google Go ) as a Sat-nav, Link Worked very well. I have never had a sat nav, but Ill be using this most of the time now I think. I also had a Spanner come on, on the dash, Tuneecu cant seem to do any thing with it, anyone any ideas, 15 plate Speed Triple?
Got out for a 100 miler today. The weather was overcast but cool compared to the 90s we’ve been having. It was really pleasant to get up in the cool air in the mountains, and the bike was loving it too. I posted pics a few days ago of some side covers I’d been fiddling with. Here are a couple pics of them on the bike.
Tune ecu can only do the spanner light with the app through an android phone and a blue tooth type diagnostic plug then you can set the service interval
Got caught in a traffic jam after a Combine Harvester broke down, my right leg feels like it's been barbecued on the exhaust pipes.
You need to buy a Bluetooth obd2 reader, then the features will show buddy. On the beer edit......buy
I've had that trouble with Harleys in the past which is why I'll never ride one ever again. Normally I approve of the smell of roasting pork, but when it turns out to be my feckin' leg that's roasting, then the local bus service takes on a whole new appeal (well it was in a Las Vegas traffic queue!!).
