No probs Dennis, you can even get original cloth type tape that is glued to wrap any loom you make or you could just buy a new loom as Lucas are making them again.
Hey darkman, I have a new question I'm trying to put electric ignition in my t 140. In the timing case under the round cover I see for holes where the pillar bolts can go two in the top two at the bottom. The bottom right hole has a stud broke off in it. Do I need that whole or can I work around it with the other three holes. Do the little screws that hold on the cap, screw into the back of the pillar bolts or do they go into one of those four holes.
Some timing covers came with just two holes to fit the points plate and some with four, you may need either depending on which make of electronic ignition you get, they are usually static set with a spacer before using a timing strobe, so it may pay you to try and remove the broken stud.
As TD has explained if you can get bolt out then do so, if not you could do a trial fit as you have 2 other holes to use and the 2 cap screws go in pillar studs to lock pillar studs tight, never over tighten the pillar studs as the electronic backing plate will crack, just nip them up as its the cap screws hold it all tight.
As long as the cap bolts go into pillar bolts I think I can get away with two as the trigger plate has room to rotate clockwise or counter clockwise to fine tune. Thx... Thx darken and TD, I could do a trial fit, quite sure I won't be able to remove broken bolt, but future adjustments might be limited and the cap would be cock-eyed. Hey Wessa, just finished wiring the bike. Have no experience with electrical wiring so it was an interesting journey. I panicked a little when I realized it was positive ground, but one step at a time, and some help from darkman I got more comfortable with a wiring diagram and with a lot of trial and error I got through it and everything seems to be working. Still have to wire the engine. The bottom is all assembled but the. Jugs are being machined .20 over and haven't got them back yet. It's been a lot of fun and has kept me buisy this winter.
