Hi all, got my first Triumph, Street Scrambler, back in June, just found the forum whilst lying in bed recuperating after a foot op' yesterday (nothing to do with the bike). No biking for me for 4 to 6 weeks and the poor Scrambler is also laid up with a flat front tyre following it's last ride. Didn't have time to sort the tyre or even clean it before the op :-( Will be looking for some advice on a pannier rail for it so will be popping over to the relevant section at some point. Sean
Thanks Crispey. To be honest, whilst the tyre will get sorted as soon as possible the Scrambler will probably end up parked up for the winter once the salt starts getting chucked on the roads and I will resort to the trusty GS instead, it's already rusting, no point the Scrambler going the same way!
Hello Sean hope you have a speedy recovery and welcome to the nut house you should fit right in. Tucker
Hi Sean and welcome! Speedy recovery. Post some pics of that scrambler when you're up and about again!
Thanks for the welcomes guys. Here's the Scrambler on a day trip to Spennybridge in Wales. Pretty standard, just replaced the indicators for the Triumph led's, obligatory number board to get rid of the hideous black plastic area and headlamp grill to protect it whilst offroad...or at least to make it look like it may go offroad.....
hehe, I did the National Rally on the Scrambler in July, riding into the checkpoint at Wisbech there were some wisecracks about Steve McQueen having just ridden in
Hi Sean, Thinking of adding a number board to my Scrambler, and wondered how it’s a fixed to the side panel. I see two holes in the board but they don’t line up with the side panel from what I can see from pictures. Any insight appreciated. Andy
Hi Andy, if you have the Triumph number board then it just screws straight into the existing holes on the panel. Go for it, aside from looking great anyway, got to get rid of that nasty graphic!! edit...I assume you have Street Scrambler 2017 onwards, which is what mine is. If it's an older Scrambler then that could be a different story.
Thanks Sean. Yes it’s an older model. December 2014. Didn’t think the fixings looked right. I’ll go to the dealer and ask the question if I can’t find one on line. Cheers
Welcome Sean. Talking of Wales if you'd like to put faces to names then pop along to our annual picnic, blather-fest and JD/Bushmills tasting event in July. https://www.thetriumphforum.com/threads/grand-meet-up-2018-wales.12452/
