Hi, bought my first Triumph Tiger 800 xrx yesterday from Cesterfield Triumph dealer.
Currently ride a CB1000R but will be commuting to Bedfordshire from the Peak District very soon and thought I needed a bike that can handle all weather conditions and load of motorway miles too.
Does anyone have any advice on tyre choice and are there any other things to keep an eye out for.
    Thanks in advance.
    Anthony

Welcome buddy and good choice of bike ;)

I used to own a fireblade 954 and thoroughly enjoyed my time with her. Unfortunately that bike was stolen from me :(

I'd love to keep it but can't afford both. It's a mega bike bit not one I want to zip up and down the country on unfortunately.

Hi, thanks for the reply, it has the metzelers you mentioned fitted but I had thought about changing them to the pirelli Angel's or Roadtec's. I'm not in a rush though so will get some miles under my belt with the tyres fitted. I'm only 5'6", will the standrd screen be upto it for someone my size?

Thanks for the welcome, sorry to hear about the Blade, I had a 59 Blade before I got the CB1000 and loved that too.
Looking forward to getting to grips with XRX though.

There are a few of us in and around that neck of the woods. If you fancy a brew sometime pop over to Pure Triumph in Woburn. Check out the route via Steppingly and the Eversholt Road through the deer park.

I'll see how I get on, but coming from the CB1000 to the XRX, it should be a dream. 10K from a bike tyre sounds brilliant, I'm use to 2 to 3K. It sounds like a win, win with an estimated 250 miles to a tank too, although I would imagine in the real world it will be quite a bit less?
