Hey ho chaps and chapetts, Repooh here, decided my life is dull and need some danger, not quite dead yet but two thirds cooked.

Not yet got license and haven't ridden since the day you could ride a Honda 250 Super Dream on a provisional. Guess that makes me the perfect demographic to add to the road traffic fatalities.

Bike test booked for Spring, CBT etc.

Was going to but Kawasaki Vulcan S, but riding position messes with my back, fallen for the Street Twin, so will order one or buy nearly new to coincide with the better weather, I will be a Sunday fair weather rider with an aim to go to Devon and Cornwall for weekend trips, no pillion, the current Mrs Repooh hates bikes, may end up buying a VW Camper (LWB) to take bike in back and somewhere to sleep.

So Street Twin; any good, what should I know that the dealer wont tell me, already seen reports the Truimph Saddlebags are pants, so SW Motec Legend it will be, any insight and research findings will be useful. Realise this is the newbie forum so will post something similar n the main forum over time.

Hi Repooh and welcome in to the Triumph Asylum. Nursi will be along soon with your 'Meds' :p

The Street Twin is an ideal first 'big' bike but it is designed to work with people of a shorter stature so how tall are you my friend ?

Welcome repooh, like the way you discribed your current life of cooked and such. Get the street twin bought, it’s a bike with character and turns more heads than most, rides well with good rider feedback!!

Welcome in Repooh, nice intro ! Good luck with the test sure you will be fine mate ! Maybe look at a refresher course too, dangerous thing since the Honda dream is so many more cagers on the road now plus the invention of the mobile telephone  ! Oh and do post pics when you get the new machine !

Hi Repooh, I don't feel quite qualified to welcome you as fairly new on here myself but they're a good bunch and very helpful, well most of em, lol, all the best with getting your license and Street twin, do grow another pair of eye's in your arse though, they'll come in useful.

    Dave.

Thank you for the warm welcome and wise (ish) words. David I wont be able to see out my arse as my wife tells me I talk out of it, hey ho, been to the Bike Shef for lunch today, on returning home straight on Amazon ordered a stick on beard, Heddon helmet, proper hipster wannabe now. Genuine nice place and a couple of nice custom Bikes

Hi and welcome, you were doing well until admitting you a hipster wannabe!!!
Beards are for real men who can't be arsed shaving, not for putting smelly oils in!!!! Or Posing riding to the cafe for a wee shitey coffee and pay £8 for it.

Bikes are for getting away from everything, riding to nowhere just cos you can. Enjoying the bike, the freedom.

Street twin is a great wee bike, be brilliant as a first big bike. Did my mid life 8 years ago, been into bikes ever since. Good luck with getting your license, and as said above get eye's in your arse cos every bugger in a car is out to get you. Not really, but treat them like that and you'll do OK.

Welcome in Repooh, you will get lots of friendly and helpful advice on here. Street twin is a great bike and will keep a smile on your face. Good luck with your training and test, that is just the start of it, bikes then become a lifestyle change :) and keep us smiling.

    Hi Reepoh!

Sitting here in rainy, foggy, Merkelly Germany I think my next upcoming crisis is adolescence...
But I have read somewhere it is mostly about pimples. So I do not worry too much.

You chose a great bike! It is nimble and not too heavy and every switch sits just exactly, where your fingers will look for it! You’ll have a great time on it.

    Cheers,
    Daniel
