Hi and welcome. In the past year I've been lucky to own both the Daytona and 1200R. Both are super bikes so it depends what you want and expect them to be. I got to grips with the Daytona quicker than the Thruxton. The Thruxton is so comfy with lots of low down Torque. Front end can get twitchy when pushed hard. Gear box is a little clunky. The rest is all good...good and good.....did I say good.
Welcome to the nut house. I ride a cast wheel bonneville and proper love it. It sounds good, handles well, looks good, goes very well and not intimidating to ride!!
Cheers guys. I have to factor in an occasional pillion as well. As you say, test rides are the way forward. I have a dealer ( Blade Swindon) not too far. Going over on Saturday to see the range.
Hi Blue, I tried the new T120 recently and I must say that I found it to be everything my 2010 T100 was - stylish, great fun to ride etc - plus it has bags more go, handles and brakes better. It's a REALLY good machine

Hi Ian. Test ride as many as you can. The choice is huge and they all have their advantages depending on what you are looking for in a bike. Not every dealer has every model to test ride, but no harm in looking further afield to test and then buying from your local guys. If you can get over to Woburn I'll brew you a cuppa in to the bargain.
Hi Blue, I recently moved from a Griso to a TTR. The Griso was great and handled a passenger better being a bigger bike. The TTR suspension copes with poor surfaces a lot better, it is smaller and although the TTR bhp is 97 versus the Griso 115 there is no real difference. The TTR is more nimble and carries its weight better. The Griso is better at carrying luggage (nice lugs provided) but overall it was needing more maintenance as it was getting older. TTR is a great choice. If you are considering the T120, my opinion is it's not fast enough and is bland in character compared to Griso and TTR. Regards AlanMac

Hi Blue Have you tried "Hughenden M40 Triumph", they are east of Oxford off J7 of the M40 Have a decent range, Bruce and Fred in parts n service are a laugh They are my local dealer and always have time for a chat to share their recommendation and experience with Triumphs Hughenden M40
