Hi There, Recently purchased a 2014 Thunderbird, which I am very happy with. Rear suspension is set to 1, which is solo rider. I wanted to take a pillion for a long ride and the manual advises setting suspension to 5. I located the question mark tool under the pillion seat, which is for adjusting the suspension. The problem is, the end of the tool does not fit in the holes, which allows the adjustment to be made. I am either doing something wrong, or the tool is badly made. Any thunderbird riders out there that have had similar problems? Thanks for any advice. Raz.
Just in case you aren't using the tool the right way, here is the diagram for it's proper use. You may also want to push on the curved part of the tool to keep it from slipping out of the hole. If this is what you are doing, the tool may be the wrong one for the bike, or the nib may be worn down which isn't likely.
Setting will all so depend on the weight of your passenger, me and the wife, is set on 4, 5 was to hard, try them all, see what suits you, not what the book says
Thank you for your reply. I have used the tool as shown, I take it the 'nib' fits into the holes shown under 1, 3 and 5 settings? If so there is no way the nib will fit.
Me and the wife have it set on 3 tried all the settings and 3 was the best for us. You might need a long bar too go over the tool handle when you want too go lower. Tucker
Thank you everyone, for the helpful advice. Went to the Triumph dealer in York and bought the correct C spanner. Suspension now set at 5 and will experiment from there, to find the best setting for our lass and I.
