I’ve decided to stick aftermarket end cans on the Bonnie. I’m not mad about the pea shooters, would like better access to the rear wheel and tbh would like a bit more grunt when it comes to the sound. I’m leaning towards Remus at the moment, and believe I’m right in thinking that they have the necessary stop for the centre stand fitted as standard. Confirmation of that would be appreciated, along with any other suggestions (again, I’d like to keep the centre stand fitted, which I accept might limit my options). TIA.
Following - swapping end cans out is on my (long) list of things to do and the centre stand "stop" is a key feature...
I went with British Customs Slash Cut Exhaust Tips. Full access to chain and wheel, no issues with center stand, looks great, sounds even better. The peashooters are classic and iconic and provide a refined -even subdued- sound. There is an identifiable note or pitch to the hum which i think a lot of enthusiasts/traditionalists love. The exhaust tips will effectively eliminate that pitch, but unleash a really nice rumble and bark that is not too loud but infinitely more fun. It will not be as loud as a Harley, and does not idle obnoxiously, but when you open the throttle, it's sure to put a sinister grin on your face >
Thanks for that, but I actually bought the very similar Motone Customs tips and then sent them back - because I’d have had to remove the centre stand. These look like I’d have the same problem, so can you just clarify what you mean by “no issues with the centre stand”?
It means I didn't have to touch the center stand whatsoever and had zero problems installing the tips. However, mine is a 2018 and yours is a 2023 so maybe there is some slight variance. Feel free to reach out to the good people at British Customs to address any concerns with your specific year. They also have an installation video on YouTube
Ah, perhaps a misunderstanding of the issue. When you take your bike off the centre stand, what stops the stand in it’s raised position?
James, I dont see a centre stand on your bike - at least not in the photos you've shared. Are you sure you're not referring to the side stand?
I think I may have answered my own question. https://hitchcoxmotorcycles.com/col...-exhaust-parts/products/triumph-t120-slip-ons
Cheers. I’ve found it interesting that just about everything available is ‘not for road use’ and so invalidates insurance. Despite this, a lot of people seem to fit them. Very interested in the Mass Moto Double Cross which are legal.
