Hello all, Two months ago I bought a neglected 1998 Tiger 900 yay! Since I had to scrap the Sprint 900, because of an accident, I’ve always been on the look out for a successor. The sprint I had was converted to a caferacer, now I have a 1200 Thruxton so the café part is sorted. When young I have always loved the looks (and sound) of the enduro’s like the Yamaha xt500 and Honda 500xl. I wondered if a stripped t400 could be as handsome as those 2. On the internet I found some pictures of to scrambler converted Tigers, so that gave a good idea of what is possible. The plan is to revise/overhaul what is obvious and necesary, and the rebuild with nice parts from across the t300 range and some t709 parts. So yes, the beginning is there. I started stripping the bike to discover what base I have. So far, I saw I there is a challenge for the swingarm and the cilinderhead. Till next time! Tjeerd.
