    Hello all,

Two months ago I bought a neglected 1998 Tiger 900 yay!
Since I had to scrap the Sprint 900, because of an accident, I’ve always been on the look out for a successor.
The sprint I had was converted to a caferacer, now I have a 1200 Thruxton so the café part is sorted.
When young I have always loved the looks (and sound) of the enduro’s like the Yamaha xt500 and Honda 500xl. I wondered if a stripped t400 could be as handsome as those 2.
On the internet I found some pictures of to scrambler converted Tigers, so that gave a good idea of what is possible.
The plan is to revise/overhaul what is obvious and necesary, and the rebuild with nice parts from across the t300 range and some t709 parts.
So yes, the beginning is there. I started stripping the bike to discover what base I have.
So far, I saw I there is a challenge for the swingarm and the cilinderhead.
    Till next time!

    Tjeerd.

That looks to be quite a job. Look forward to seeing how it pans out. Good luck with it. :)

    Thank you!

I went to my local Triumph mechanic Hans today and discussed the damaged ear on the cylinderhead. He has spare heads and will prep one for me, grinding valves and such. So that is a concern less.
Another concern is the broken clamp for the concentric disc on the swingarm. Unfortunately Hans did not have a replacement for that, so I have to look for one online.
Next up is complete stripdown to the bare frame. I will be cutting of the subframe and make mounting points for the thunderbird/legend subframe.

    Laters!

IMG_7266.jpeg Wow, two months gone since last post..
Guess I 've been busy with something.

At least I got the frame stripped; I think I will weld the 2 lower legs of the subframe to the frame instead of bolt on.
