Resetting The Service Indicator

i'll be picking up my Speed triple tommorow from a Honda dealer who were doing the valve check service, ( just wasn't practical going to a Triumph dealer the day before with the bike ) however he has said they are unable to clear the "Spanner" that shows up on the dash,he said only a triumph dealer can do this.Does anyone know if this is right and if so how much will a triumph dealer charge for doing this?

 

I don't like how he tells you this after he starts on your bike

i never thought about asking, i just assumed they would be able to clear it.i'm not bothered about it but if i come to sell it might be a problem..next time i'm near a triumph dealer i'll ask them nicely

havn't a clue about Andriod tune ecu! How the heck can a Honda main dealer not be able to clear it when a Joe bloggs with an app can

Hi dude,

Haven't look through the thread but you need tuneecu and a blue tooth obd2, the lead is only for remaps.

Hope this helps, if you live near Durham I would remap it for you and take the spanner off.

My 955i had an EML so I went to the local back street guy and he reset it in two mins.
The thing is the Honda dealer could reset it, only he d get in to trouble for treading on another dealers toes and not useing proper Maker software Be it Honda or Triumph.

Ive got all the gear, Dougie. Ive only used it to check my throttle bodies so far. If I can help, give me a shout, na bather.

 

Tune ecu will work I use it on my laptop with the lead off ebay and cleared fault codes after a fuse blew on the lights you just click on clear all error codes and the bike will restart I should imagine the spanner light would go out as well

That is for people who are mucking around with fueling and engine temp stuff. I'm very wary of it. Although on my own bike I would reset a EML if I knew it was ok to do so.

 

The pc version will not get rid of thje service spanner, you need the android version with the bluetooth OBD2 thingy
The be aware of the software warning is nothing to worry about, worry more about the operator!!

 

I would imagine that some muppet playing with the tool could get all three pistons spinning in opposite directions. Now that would be interesting!

Just had mine in for a remap at Dragon, but the spanner is on, may need to hook up if you dont mind and clear the spanner
