Nothing to do with biking but am off to Angouleme, France tomorrow for work. Here's hoping there are no further lockdowns or I could be proper stuffed. There for the working week, no bike but temps in the 30's.
In the 3rd week of Sept every year they have a classic car street race (Race de Remparts), one of the last street circuits. If you're going then that is definitely a good time to go.
It is also famous for it's cartoons and comics and holds the second largest festival in Europe every January.
Been to Angouleme several times on day visits. It's a very nice town and as you would expect, there a lot's of great places to eat. If you get time there's also the possibility of getting out of town and hiring a canoe on the river, a very pleasureable experience.
Angouleme is a nice small town. But not many things do to there after work. At 1 hour driving Royan is also very nice.
