Word from Triumph M40 is that the new ECU can be adjusted and remapped, BUT if you try and change it again, even to put the original map back in, it would brick the ECU
This is so no-one can put in their own map, bugger the engine up then put the original map back and claim it wasn't their fault

I am fully prepared to be corrected but this is my understanding as per a Triumph dealer

I am surprised that nobody has created a compact stand alone ECU for modern bikes, there are plenty of car orientated ECUs and piggybacks but they are going to be too big for a bike.

Like I said I went and had another look :)and I don’t need to chop/cut anything but will need to make pipe extensions :p.....easy :)
My concerns are with the ECU and will it adapt

Well feck me where was your eyes when you looked first time, extensions are easy bought from flea bay (Stainless) rather than pinching round steel tube from work ;) as for ECU follow Stripplemonts advice run without touching throttle.
At the end of the day its your choice and risk :skull::cold_sweat: all of this shit is guesswork.

All a std ECU will do if the battery has been disconnected for a bit depending on how clever, is relearn idle control and once being driven is relearn short term fuel and timing trims... unless its using wide-band lambdas and using live feedback tables, i used to tune and remap car ECUs and piggybacks.

I dont think there is a risk swapping end cans, it will be good or a bit crap, and your ecu will reset.
I cant see it will break the bike.( I dont fing know).
I imagine you could put them on, see if you like them and swap them back if you dont like them, with no ill effect.
I think end cans are physical thing, and only if your fussy would you need to remap.
I swapped my exhaust for a delkivic 2000 miles ago and have no problems.
I decided not to remap, cos the gains were only above 100 mph and so didnt effect my riding.
If I remove the CAT, air box sensors, and exhaust sensor, I need to plug in TuneEC, only because, the ECU would keep telling me via the engine management light, that the sensors are missing, so I would need to tick the boxes in the display so the ECU didnt look for these.

I wouldnt be to worried about having ago.
This is for my bike you dont remap you just switch off the two sensors,
I dont know how this effects your model.
