Changing mi reyt hand crankcase and clutch covers. Got little starter motor one off, but big uns solid. According to t'Haynes manual, tha takes all t'bolts out, and the cover "lifts off". Av been tapping it wi a rubber mallet, but it's not budging! Any ideas, please chaps?

Aren't there any "pry" points, little lips, for want of a better phrase, that you can gently lever against? A bit of pressure coupled with some blows from a rubber mallet should get it free. As DD says, there will be locating dowels and the gasket will also be sticking the casing to the engine.

Sorted it. Thanks everyone. As Yorkie mentioned, I found a couple of places where thi was a bit of overlap. I managed to get a long screwdriver from t'other side ot bike and tap it wit mallet. It came away at bottom, but were stuck at top. Had to take starter motor off, to release it, then seperate it from t'crankcase ont bench. Clutch cover toneet, more fun and games!! :)

If I remember right there’s a pry point bottom left as you look at the clutch cover, if your oil sticker is still there it’s near that. I’ll look for a picture.

If you zoom in on the pic there’s another one about 4 o’clock, 4 bolts anticlockwise from the other.
