Thanks Wessa Might have a go at putting them on tomorrow Sitting suffering with an overhang at the moment ...like a hangover but worse
Freezing my feckin nuts off in my garage I bloody hate wiggly amps Have blown 4 fuses trying to get these lights working Think I've sussed it now by using the tried and tested method of trial and error Gonna have a coffee and get warmed up a bit then I'll get the soldering iron out, shrink wrap and sleeving etc Got 5 wires coming from my BPOS wiring loom Only need 2?...one for dipped and one for main The earth has been the problem ....with ignition off one of the wires from the bike is an earth but turn ignition on and I have no earth ????? So I'll run a wire from headlights earth to the frame somewhere this way everything is working as it should and the BPOS starts and runs fine
Cheers mate but I can/got plenty from work....although I'm gonna have to get some more 10amp ones to replenish my stock And you're right...the devil invented wiggly amps
Right then that's them done all wired up and working...well pleased with how they turned out and how they look on my BPOS Only one job left to go and that's to go out in the dark and set them up Can't look at them directly as they're too bright and the high beam is a lot stronger again Hope they're as good as I think they'll be
Looking good marra, they do suit your BPOS well, glad your happy with them as I think they look sweet as !!! Considering they were done on a budget which is the way to go WELL DONE DILLI
I dunno if these are road legal (dilligaf) but I'll worry about that (not) when it's MOT time I do know a friendly MOT tester who's a stickler for safety but has let me get away with loud pipes and dodgy lights in the past
I have watched this thread as i enjoyed the sprocket cover project. They look spot on my freind. Love the step by step aditions and pics, keep it up. Credit to the forum.
Cheers mate Next I would like to make my own handlebars but I think I'll have to do a lot of research as the type I want to make will have the throttle cables and wiring on the inside and leave only the clutch cable and brake hose on the outside giving a much cleaner look I know that this can be done as I've seen it at custom shows at rallies and have spoken to people who've done it but then I get drunk and forget what I've learnt Best one I've seen looked like it had nothing on the bars But on closer inspection an almost invisible throttle was in the usual position and on the left side bar the same set up operated the clutch....a twist clutch...very clever no levers on the bars...the brakes were linked and operated by a foot pedal in the usual position I think that would be beyond me and I don't like other people doing this sort of stuff for me as I get job satisfaction and they always want mega bucks for it
