Hi, I have a 1999 Tiger 885i. It has been running fine but now, after running for a bit, the idle creeps up to about 2500. When I stop and restart it is ok for a while again, then the same thing happens. I think I need to get Tune ECU and do a TPS reset but I don't have an android tablet or a OBD reader so I would be starting from scratch. Is there something else I can check in the mean time? I did have the tank off and the hoses look OK but I was told it might be the intakes from the airbox. I am hoping I don't need to take the tanks off again, I am afraid to break a plastic connector.
I cannot get TuneECU to register, there is a server problem. Is this the only way to reset the TPS? There must be another way.
First thing to do is research alloy replacements for the plastic fuel hose connectors. Then, when you have the tank off again next week (lol) replace them. Then reseat the gasket around the IACV.
Yes the tank will come off today - I don't have the metal fuel connectors yet so I will be really careful. ; ) My manual says the IACV is inside the airbox so hopefully it will be easy to identify. Thanks
Thank you so much for your help, it's all fixed and running better than ever! And I didn't break the plastic fuel connectors.
It's underneath the airbox and the gasket is very easy to dislodge when refitting. I used to hold it in place with little blobs of blacktac.
