Hi, As of today I am offically a 2016 R Speed Triple owner, and number one on my list of things to axe is the number plate hanger, I'm undecided which tail to get, and wondered if anyone has pictures of theirs. I want to run high level cans, I'm pretty sure I'll be going SC project route so would like a tail tidy that works them. (high level cans) I have looked at the evo tech tail tidy but having seen a picture there seems to be a issue with indicator placement and the exhausts with arrows fitted, I assume this would be the same issue with sc project? if anyone can suggest a suitable option I would be very grateful!
This is my Evotech tail tidy, with 8x6 number plate. Evotech is top quality, think some people on here sent the R&G's back
That great, thanks for the pictures, after a bit of studying of pictures it looks like there won't be any issues with the Evo tech tail tidy and the indicators, the picture I saw with the arrows the indicators seemed to be pointing diagonally upwards, which isn't a look I'm keen on.
Just joined today - so here's my first contribution... The tail tidy has been an ongoing project for me, especially given the lack of options when the 2016 model hit the showrooms...and I've messed about with several configurations, so if this helps, here's what I found. I started by replacing the stock tail untidy for the R&G version. It was relatively straightforward to fit, although it did seem to need a bit of encouragement to line it up straight and I struggled with the LED number plate light until I realised that the black wire connects to yellow, and yellow to black. Obvious mistake. Then my Arrows that had been on back order turned up - and as people confirm on here, the LED indicators are pushed up at 30 degrees and touch the carbon tips. I called R&G and they had no solution, but my local Triumph dealer sold me a set of R&G brackets made to raise the indicators out of the way. The brackets bothered me - it's not an elegant look (OK, I hate them) and after discovering Evotech and buying their radiator guard, I contacted them to ask if their tail tidy would fit with the Arrows. They didn't know. I bought one anyway and it's amazing. The quality is superb (it makes the R&G version look like it's made of tin foil) and the fit is millimetre perfect. It looks like this: R&G tidy with high and low brackets going spare if anyone needs them ;-)

Glad I could help - trying to get reliable information from both R&G and Evotech was like extracting teeth...as far as I can tell, you just cannot go wrong with the Evotech version. The only unforeseen extra I had to buy, was another 8"x6" numberplate, because the bolt holes wouldn't line up (much further apart on the R&G).
Just a little update I have just fitted my Evotech tail tidy, and I am very impressed with the build quality and fit and would highly recommend to anyone looking to get one. I had a R and G tail tidy fitted to my previous bike S1000RR and have to say quality wise the evo tech wins hands down IMO. on the back of this I have just ordered some Evotech Shorty levers and oil cooler/ Rad Guard I will give a update when I get these items and fit them. Just need to get some nice weather to go use the thing
Glad to hear it worked out for you...especially after giving such a glowing report of my own Evotech tidy. I have the rad and cooler guard too. The quality is the same, but the fit isn't quite as precise - it needed a little persuasion to seat correctly. Looks great once the jobs done though.
I am looking at one of these as well. I have had to register with them as there is no stock at present. These seem to be the only decent ones out there.
Hi All I'm new to the forum and this is my first post. I have just picked up my new 2017 Speed Triple R which came with dealer fitted Arrows, Rest of World spec as opposed to European spec at my request. After reading the glowing reports about the Evotech tail tidy, I had preordered one in readiness for the arrival of the bike. I have just tried to fit it and I cannot get the indicators to clear the cans. Everything lines up nicely and the quality of the tidy is excellent, but the indicators are right up against the carbon end caps on the cans. Does anyone have any ideas in case I am missing something obvious, if not I have a new unmarked tail tidy up for grabs.
Looking up the thread you can see MrTriple has evotech/arrow combination, it looks a close fit in his photo but not too bad. post up a picture, might lead to a few ideas. I don't know if there are any differances between the 16/17 years exhaust systems, is there any room for movement on the silencers as on the SC Project ones you have a bit of adjustment on the brackets.
Welcome to the forum Knobby - our bikes are bound to be identical...and my Arrows are RoW too...and I assume you have the same standard LED indicators. There's about 10mm of gap between the indicator tip and and carbon cap on mine, so it's strange that you'd experience a problem. I'd loosen the hanger bolt on each can, too see if shifting them back a couple of mm might be enough sort the problem. The arrows come with a replacement one-into-two pipe - is there any chance that the dealer has fitted the new cans to the stock pipe (if that's even possible)? The finish of the stock pipe is course brushed, where the arrow pipe is fine brushed (marginal but you can tell the difference). Perhaps post a pic of where the pipe feeds into the can? Clutching at straws here!
I think that that can be the only possible answer Mr Triple. I gave up in the end and put everything back to stock to make the most of perfect running in weather . If the cans can be moved back, everything would fit fine, but looking around the can hanger brackets, it didn't seem as if there was any adjustment available. I've not picked up the OE cans from the dealer yet but will check the finish on the link pipe just in case they decided to short cut things a little.
I recovered the link pipe from the loft and took some photos (for what it's worth!). I can't line things up to get a proper idea of size comparison, but the stock pipe is much bulkier with less refined bends and looks like it would push the cans further out.
I did some more thinking. Proper considered thinking. It can't be the link pipe can it? The problem is the distance between the hanger and the tip of the can...which is fixed. I'm going to lose sleep over this
Did you remove the OEM rubber piece that fits between the tidy and the tail? That would cause the problem - the Evotech tidy is designed to fit metal against metal. That's it...it has to be it
