Anne, Geoff is spot on with what he says. You've tried the Street Twin and are happy with the bars. The Street Twin and Street Cup have basically the same frame, although the SC is slightly higher at the back because it has slightly longer shocks. So fitting Street Twin bars to your SC should provide the solution you are looking for. Good luck.

There must be something wrong with me as I think I must be the only person who has changed my SCs bars for even LOWER ones, let alone higher ones. I have clip ons on mine and think it looks and rides great. Also saved a load of weight without original bars and clamps. Ok, I wouldnt want to ride it for hours but am lucky enough to have another bike for that.

IMO, low handlebars with mid foot pegs don't provide a very comfortable riding position. If the pegs were about a foot further back, I'd probably like the lower bars. My Yamaha Bolt C-Spec is the "cafe" version of the standard Bolt with clip-ons and more rearward pegs which I find fairly comfortable. Even with the Street Twin bars, the Cup's pegs still seem more forward than I like. I did look for aftermarket rearsets before I made the bar swap.

Here’s a pic of the riding position for me when I first changed the bars.

Agree 100%. Would love rearsets for the SC. TEC do adjustable pegs which they say are all that is needed for the SC but I'm not convinced.

I'm of that age where my first bike was the (now iconic) FS1E, and I remember spending a lot of riding with my feet on the rear pegs! Kids eh!!

Hey Geoff, Im looking for some stock Street Twin bars. I bought a 2019 ST that already had been changed over to the Street Cub bars and I hate them lol. Im trying to switch them back to the stock ST bars and I cant really find any. I see aftermarket bars of course. Can you elaborate on what you did to install the Renthals????

    Hi Sean,

    Yes, of course :)

For me the main differences between the standard SC or ST bars and the aftermarket Renthal 758 bars are as follows.
    1. Renthal bars have no notches for the switch gear. This can be resolved by filing off the plastic locating lugs inside the left and right switch gear BUT be aware that the lugs stop the switch gear from turning (a minor issue in my opinion).
    2. The Renthal bar ends are not threaded so the stock Triumph bar ends need to be changed for something like Oxford. The bar end mirrors should be fine though.
I also changed the clamps on my SC to the standard ST ones (purchased from eBay) but you might have these anyway. The SC uses fat bars but the ST clamps suit the 7/8 Renthal bars.

Finally, you may already have a long clutch cable because yours was originally a ST but the SC cable is too short for the higher bars so you will need a standard ST clutch cable.

    I hope this helps!

    Cheers

    Geoff
